Seeking a new purpose, in 2021, Jones founded Talon’s Reach, a foundation dedicated to supporting Eagles suffering from physical, mental, and moral injuries. He named the foundation in honor of his fallen best friend, Talon Leach. Jones shared, “I really want to show people that it’s okay to ask for help, that it’s okay to be hurting, to be struggling, mentally and physically.”

Raymond Yoshihiro Aka served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1947 during World War II, having been drafted in 1939. Throughout his military service, he worked as a language specialist at various locations, including Camp Roberts in California, Fort Sam Houston in Texas, Camp Savage in Minnesota, and in Japan. Aka was a member of the Military Intelligence Service (MIS), a unit critical for intelligence work during the war.

Roddie Edmonds was born in August 1919 in South Knoxville, Tennessee. Raised in a close-knit family, he graduated from Knoxville High School in 1938 and was an active member of his local Methodist church, reflecting his deep faith. Throughout his life, Edmonds was married three times, with his final marriage to Mary Ann Watson lasting from 1953 until his passing. He had two sons.

Charles Henry “Lauc” Lauchheimer was born in September 1859 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Meyer Henry Lauchheimer and Babbette Eichberg. His military career commenced at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, where he graduated in 1881, finishing in the top quarter of his class.

Richard "Dick" Groat was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, in November 1930. He attended Duke University on a basketball scholarship and excelled in both basketball and baseball, earning All-American honors in both sports. He was later inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame.
Groat transitioned directly from college baseball to Major League Baseball. In June 1952, he signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates and was also selected by the Fort Wayne Pistons in the 1952 NBA draft.
