Due to its high holding force and watertight top plate the mpi double ceramic round chuck is an indispensable tool during workpiece turning and circular grinding. The relatively small pole pitch and a low magnetic field make it suitable for thinner workpieces from 0.3" or from 0.5" depending on the chuck diameter or pole pitch. The top plate is magnetic with each pole individually magnetized by powerful ceramic permanent magnets so electrical controls and collector rings are not required. Frequent magnet polarity changes result in low magnet field to prevent magnetization of tool bits.
