These strip brushes with rigid backing have polyester bristles that provide better resistance to moisture, abrasion, water, sunlight, and heat than nylon bristles. They are commonly installed at the bottom of doors to prevent liquid or mist from escaping a sealed environment. They can also be mounted along conveyors in areas where water or heat may be present to direct and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts. The polyester bristles also have good bend recovery and hold their shape better than nylon bristles. Also known as metal-backed strip brushes, strip brushes with rigid backing each contain densely compressed bristles that are secured in a U-shaped metal channel with a retaining wire. Install each brush into a compatible holder to help maximize contact between the brush and conveyor when the brush is mounted.

Strip brushes are mounted along conveyors to direct and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts. They are available with rigid metal or flexible plastic backings and can be installed in compatible brush holders for mounting. When the brush is worn, a new brush can be installed in the holder.
