In the event of a fire, this water-based, intumescent coating expands 50 to 70 times its original thickness, creating a layer of insulation that effectively reduces the rate of combustion and smoke. This increases the amount of time available for the building’s occupants to depart from the dangerous environment. Shield Industry, Inc.’s ForceField® FireGuard E-84® helps contain the fire to the room of origin which minimizes damage to your property and allows the building to maintain its structural integrity. It is less expensive than other solutions, and the convenient spray application helps you to complete coverage in less time. The quick curing process may take up to 7 days; however, the formula dries quickly allowing building occupancy while the coat cures. The coating can be top-coated with a water-based flat or semigloss paint for a smooth, decorative finish in a variety of colors.
