As a Tax Exempt buyer, why are taxes still showing up in my cart?

If you are a Tax Exempt buyer (Government or approved Tax Exempt Organization) and have submitted your tax-exempt certificate, GoVets will not include taxes on your purchases.  If you are still seeing Taxes show up in your cart, there are different reasons why this may occur:

  1. Government Buyers: If you validated your Government account while you were logged in, we recommend logging out and logging back in.  If we made changes to your account while you were still logged in, those changes may not be reflected in your active account until you have logged back in.
  2. Approved Tax Exempt Buyer:  If GoVets support approved your account to be tax-exempt while you were logged in, we recommend logging out and logging back in.  If we made changes to your account while you were still logged in, those changes may not be reflected in your active account until you have logged back in.
  3. Government and Potential Tax Exempt Buyer: Your account may NOT yet be approved to be Tax Exempt.  Reach out to GoVets Support (Chat, Email, or Call) and we can help you get setup. 
  4. Potential Tax Exempt Buyer: If you are not yet approved to be a Tax Exempt buyer on GoVets, please apply for Tax Exemption on our site.  Reach out to support for additional information / help.
