The m161-2l is designed to be an entry-level microscope for students with a rugged build that will last for years. The compact design allows the microscope to be used just about anywhere. A convenient handle is built into the form for carrying around and its ability to run on ac power or batteries makes it an ideal travel companion. High-quality glass optics are used to provide clear sharp images. Three objective lenses (4x 10x 40x) can be selected for increasing levels of magnification. Two eyepieces are included (10x 20x) to increase the total magnification range to 40x-1000x. This will accommodate a wide variety of specimens including cells bacteria and even sand. With two built-in lights you can switch from the lower light -- which is used for slides -- to the top light for opaque specimens. The head can be rotated 360 to match the user's preference. Everything needed to start using the microscope is in the box including a starter set of slides with a mix of already-prepared slides and some blank ones for preparing your own.
