This Ruland Keyed Shaft Collar is a precision-engineered solution for applications requiring high holding power and precision alignment. Its two-piece design allows for in-place installation and servicing, minimizing downtime. The collar's keyway enables positive drive applications and provides extra torque capacity when used as a rigid coupling. Its tightly controlled face-to-bore perpendicularity ensures accurate component alignment and load-bearing capabilities. Suitable for use as a shaft collar or short rigid coupling, this collar is ideal for applications in machinery, automation, and robotics, offering superior performance and durability in demanding environments.
Top product features:
Infinitely adjustable to fit a variety of shaft sizes
Has superior holding power compared to set screw collars
Maintains tightly controlled face to bore perpendicularity for critical applications
Top product applications:
Positioning or locating components on a shaft
As a mechanical stop in assembly or maintenance applications
As a shaft collar or rigid coupling in applications where standard length rigid couplings will not fit
Ruland clamp style shaft collars do not mar the shaft, are infinitely adjustable, and have superior holding power when compared to set screw collars. This two-piece double wide shaft collar has a 12mm bore, 4mm keyway, 28mm OD, and 24mm width. It has about 25% more holding power than standard round bore collars of equivalent bore size and can be used as a short rigid coupling in applications where standard length rigid couplings will not fit. The addition of a keyway allows for use in positive drive applications as a shaft collar or for extra torque capacity when used as a rigid coupling. Tightly controlled face to bore perpendicularity is maintained (TIR of < 0.05mm) which is critical when the collar is used as a load bearing face, mechanical stop, or for component alignment. The work surface is identified by two grooves on the face allowing the user to easily identify which side is precision faced. The two-piece design allows this collar to be installed or serviced in-place without the need to remove adjacent components. Halves are mated throughout the manufacturing process for precise fit and increased holding power. This collar is stamped with the Ruland name and bore size for ease of identification. It is manufactured from 1215 lead-free steel to a fine burr-free finish with Ruland's proprietary black oxide formulation which creates a fine glossy appearance and increases holding power and corrosion resistance. Hardware tests beyond DIN 912 12.9 standards for maximum holding power. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
