The Ruland Keyed Shaft Collar is a precision-engineered solution for applications requiring high holding power and adjustable positioning. Its two-piece design allows for in-place installation and servicing, minimizing downtime and maintenance. The collar's 8mm bore and 2mm keyway enable positive drive and increased torque capacity, making it ideal for use as a rigid coupling or load-bearing face. With a fine burr-free finish and hardware of like material, this collar provides consistent corrosion resistance and meets or exceeds DIN 912 12.9 standards for maximum holding power. Suitable for use in a variety of industries, including aerospace, medical, and automation.
Top product features:
Infinitely adjustable for precise fit
Maintains tightly controlled face to bore perpendicularity (TIR of < 0.05mm) for critical applications
Has a keyway for use in positive drive applications or for extra torque capacity when used as a rigid coupling
Top product applications:
Precision machinery assembly
Mechanical stop or load bearing face
Positive drive applications as a shaft collar or rigid coupling
Ruland clamp style shaft collars do not mar the shaft, are infinitely adjustable, and have superior holding power when compared to set screw collars. This two-piece double wide shaft collar has a 8mm bore, 2mm keyway, 18mm OD, and 20mm width. It has about 25% more holding power than standard round bore collars of equivalent bore size and can be used as a short rigid coupling in applications where standard length rigid couplings will not fit. The addition of a keyway allows for use in positive drive applications as a shaft collar or for extra torque capacity when used as a rigid coupling. Tightly controlled face to bore perpendicularity is maintained (TIR of < 0.05mm) which is critical when the collar is used as a load bearing face, mechanical stop, or for component alignment. The work surface is identified by two grooves on the face allowing the user to easily identify which side is precision faced. The two-piece design allows this collar to be installed or serviced in-place without the need to remove adjacent components. Halves are mated throughout the manufacturing process for precise fit and increased holding power. This collar is stamped with the Ruland name and bore size for ease of identification. It is manufactured from 303 stainless steel to a fine burr-free finish with hardware of like material for consistent corrosion resistance. Hardware tests beyond DIN 912 12.9 standards for maximum holding power. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
