The Ruland Keyed Shaft Collar is a precision-engineered solution for applications requiring high holding power and adjustability. Suitable for use as a shaft collar or rigid coupling, this two-piece design features a 16mm bore, 5mm keyway, and 34mm OD, with a TIR of < 0.05mm for precise face-to-bore perpendicularity. The collar's proprietary black oxide finish and 1215 lead-free steel construction provide increased corrosion resistance and holding power. Ideal for use in positive drive applications, mechanical stops, and component alignment, this shaft collar is also infinitely adjustable and can be installed or serviced in-place without removing adjacent components.
Top product features:
Clamp style design does not mar the shaft.
Tightly controlled face to bore perpendicularity is maintained (TIR of < 0.05mm).
The addition of a keyway allows for use in positive drive applications or for extra torque capacity.
Top product applications:
Shaft alignment in precision machinery
Positive drive applications where high torque is required
Load bearing face or mechanical stop in high accuracy applications
Ruland clamp style shaft collars do not mar the shaft, are infinitely adjustable, and have superior holding power when compared to set screw collars. This two-piece double wide shaft collar has a 16mm bore, 5mm keyway, 34mm OD, and 28mm width. It has about 25% more holding power than standard round bore collars of equivalent bore size and can be used as a short rigid coupling in applications where standard length rigid couplings will not fit. The addition of a keyway allows for use in positive drive applications as a shaft collar or for extra torque capacity when used as a rigid coupling. Tightly controlled face to bore perpendicularity is maintained (TIR of < 0.05mm) which is critical when the collar is used as a load bearing face, mechanical stop, or for component alignment. The work surface is identified by two grooves on the face allowing the user to easily identify which side is precision faced. The two-piece design allows this collar to be installed or serviced in-place without the need to remove adjacent components. Halves are mated throughout the manufacturing process for precise fit and increased holding power. This collar is stamped with the Ruland name and bore size for ease of identification. It is manufactured from 1215 lead-free steel to a fine burr-free finish with Ruland's proprietary black oxide formulation which creates a fine glossy appearance and increases holding power and corrosion resistance. Hardware tests beyond DIN 912 12.9 standards for maximum holding power. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
