Precision brand 316 stainless steel shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material. Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals salts acids and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0 molybdenum. Fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 and type 304. Measures 6" wide by 12" long by 0.010" thick. Type 316 is used extensively in chemical and food processing equipment photographic pharmaceutical marine and textile finishing equipment.
