The Burndy PAT81K2U03A2 is a cordless battery-powered crimping tool kit from the PATRIOT 81K2 series, built for electrical crimping of copper and aluminum connectors. It delivers 6 tons of crimping force through a latching crimp head and runs on an 18V lithium-ion platform, making it suited to in-field and production electrical work without a corded power source.
The tool uses a dieless, range-taking crimp head that covers a broad conductor range — from 8 AWG up to 1,000 kcmil on copper lugs and terminals, up to 777.7 kcmil on copper flex, and up to 750 kcmil on aluminum lugs, terminals, HYPLUG aluminum, and splices. It is rated for UL 486A-B connections using Burndy connectors, and works with copper cable, copper flex, and aluminum cable. A 360-degree rotating head and a mechanical ram release support working in tight or awkward terminations.
Ergonomically built around a pistol-grip handle, the tool measures 15.2 in. long, 14.93 in. high, and 3.25 in. wide, and weighs 11.05 lb. It runs on the Makita 18V LXT battery platform, and the kit ships with the bare tool, two 3.0 Ah 18V Li-ion batteries, a 120V AC charger, guides, and a hard carrying case.
