Akona Medium-Duty Refractory Mortar is a dry, preblended mortar ideally suited for setting masonry units in fireplaces (outdoor or indoor), fire pits, BBQ’s, or chimney applications such as setting clay flue liners. Our refractory mortar is air-entrained for freeze-thaw resistance, offers great workability, high strength, and a one-hour working time. Good for temperatures up to 2,550°F and has passed ASTM C199, ASTM C1283, and ASTM E136.
