Bi-directional reinforcement for added strength constructed with continuous fiberglass yarns in both the longitudinal and transverse directions along with a biaxially oriented polypropylene backing scotch® bi-directional filament tape 8959 provides cut edge protection and resists abrasion and splitting. A synthetic rubber adhesive provides high initial adhesion and holds well with minimum rub-down on most surfaces. Our heavy-duty tape is specifically formulated to provide good adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces including metal plastic and fiberboard. Scotch® bi-directional filament tape 8959 is an ideal choice for high-strength box reinforcing heavy-duty sealing shipping splicing and palletizing. The multi-level synthetic-rubber adhesive prevents delamination of fiberglass from backing. Many uses use fiberglass strapping tapes where strength is critical.
